Privacy Policy
Effective August 26, 2026
Endorsement provides a public professional trust graph and a browser extension for submitting explicit hiring and investing endorsements.
Information we collect
- Your X account identifier and public profile information when you authenticate.
- The X handle you choose to endorse, its person or company classification, and the endorsement you submit.
- Operational information needed to secure and maintain the service, such as timestamps, request logs, and abuse signals.
The extension reads only the active X profile URL when you open it. It does not collect browsing history, page content, private messages, passwords, or endorsements without an explicit click.
How we use information
We use this information only to authenticate users, publish endorsements, calculate reputation rankings, prevent abuse, operate the service, and satisfy legal obligations. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.
Public information
Endorsements, associated public X identities, profile classifications, and derived ranking scores may be publicly visible. Do not submit an endorsement you do not want associated with your public identity.
Sharing
We may share information with infrastructure providers that process it on our behalf, when required by law, or to protect users and the service. We do not transfer extension data to data brokers, advertising platforms, or unrelated third parties.
Retention and deletion
We retain information while it is needed to provide and secure the service. You may request deletion or correction of your account, profile classification, or endorsements by contacting privacy@endorsement.dev. Some security and legal records may be retained where required.
Security and age
We use reasonable safeguards but cannot guarantee absolute security. Endorsement is not directed to children under 13.
Changes
We will post changes here and provide prominent notice when data practices materially change.
